Why we exist
.IVF Issues
IVF can be a lifeline but for many. It is filled with financial strain, emotional exhaustion uncertainty and so much more.
With a global average of 3 to 4 cycles often required to achieve a successful pregnancy and some needing more the costs quickly escalate into tens of thousands of dollars, placing immense pressure on individuals, couples and their families. Limited access to biological material, especially egg donation adds another layer of difficulty. Psychologically, the repeated disappointment and physical toll of treatment particularly on women is deeply distressing.
Surrogacy in Australia and abroad
In Australia, the dream of having a child through surrogacy is met with an overwhelming wall of legal, financial, and emotional challenges. With altruistic only surrogacy laws in place, it is illegal to pay a surrogate for anything beyond reasonable out of pocket expenses severely limiting the pool of available surrogates and making it nearly impossible to find someone willing to help.
Compounding the issue is the lack of accessible egg donation, inconsistent state by state legislation, and a confusing, often contradictory legal framework that leaves families unsure of their rights, responsibilities or next steps. The process takes years, with no guarantee of success and minimal guidance or support from the system meant to protect them.
These barriers don’t just delay parenthood—they force desperate Australians to look overseas, where commercial surrogacy is legal and more structured. Despite the emotional, financial, and ethical complexities involved. Ironically, the very laws designed to protect surrogates and children in Australia are instead driving them abroad, where risks are greater but the pathway is at least clear.
This system leaves families vulnerable, emotionally drained, financially exhausted and feeling like they’re breaking the law just to build a family.
We believe everyone deserve clarity, compassion, and a realistic pathway to build their families here at home.
